ClockWatcher tells me that the "Database needs to be updated to the latest version of the application", Why?

This happens when a new version of ClockWatcher is released and certain parts of the database need to be updated.

** NOTE **

Aquarius would strongly suggest taking a copy of aqua-tms.mdb and aqua-aud.mdb before performing a ClockWatcher update.

ClockWatcher tells me my username I used to login is already logged in. What can I do?

Either ClockWatcher crashed previously or did not exit gracefully the last time you logged off. To unlock the account, type the username and password as you would do to login normally but instead of clicking OK or pressing enter, make sure either the username or password field is selected, hold down the shift key and press F12. You should see that the user account has now been unlocked. Clicking OK clears this dialogue. Now click "Login" as normal.

** NOTE **

ClockWatcher is designed to run on one PC with the databases locally or stored on a Server / other PC. If you are using ClockWatcher on more than on PC that is pointing to the same Server / other PC then you will experience data corruption. ClockWatcher is not supported in this mode of operation.

What username and password can I use to login after I've installed ClockWatcher?

Username: admin

Password: password

Upon login for the first time, you will be asked to enter a new password for the admin account

What's the default password for admin user?

The default password for the "admin" account is password

Will a password for any ClockWatcher login expire?

No

ClockWatcher is only licensed for 1 driver!

This is the default license count for the demonstration version of ClockWatcher. If you have purchased ClockWatcher and been given a link to download it OR you have been sent a CD then please contact the Helpdesk via email (support@aquariusweb.co.uk). If you have done neither of these then the license count will be for 1 driver until you purchase the full product.

ClockWatcher is only licensed for 10 drivers but I've purchased more. How do I update the license count?

If you have purchased more drivers (in blocks of 25), you should have been asked to email a key to the ClockWatcher licensing email account. If you haven't done this then please contact the helpdesk via email (support@aquariusweb.co.uk). If you have and received an email back, copy the new license key into the "New License Key" field found under the Help menu in "Licensing…" and click "Validate New Key". The license count should now be updated

I was emailed a license key, how do I use it?

Copy the new license key into the "New License Key" field found under the Help menu in "Licensing…" and click "Validate New Key"

How can I tell how many drivers ClockWatcher is licensed for?

Click "Help" from the main menu, then click "Licensing". "No. of Licensed Drivers" is shown here

How to run ClockWatcher if the database is stored on another machine / server.

You may want to store the database files associated with ClockWatcher on a Server / other PC that is being backed up on a regular basis. If so then following the simple instructions below: -

This section is based on the client PC (the PC running the ClockWatcher application) to have a mapped network drive to the Server / other PC.

1) Browse to "C:\Program Files\Clock Watcher" (or the location where you installed the application).

2) Copy and Paste the following files to the mapped network driver location you have specified.

aqua-tm.mdb

aqua-aud.mdb

3) Alter any shortcuts to ClockWatcher so the "Target" reads as below. Substitute "Z" for the drive letter you used to map the network drive: -

C:\Program Files\Clock Watcher\cwatcher.exe dbpath:z:\Server1\MyShare\
